Meet the Designer
Hello! My name is Laura, and I'm currently a UX/UI Designer at Intrepid Studios, where I design both the public-facing website for our AAA game and the internal admin tools that support the game and studio operations. Whether it's crafting seamless user journeys for players or creating intuitive systems for internal teams, I focus on delivering thoughtful, scalable design solutions.
My path to design started in journalism, where I learned to ask the right questions, dig into the details, and tell compelling stories (skills that now shape how I approach UX challenges). I love tackling complex problems, uncovering clarity in chaos, and designing experiences that just make sense.
Outside of design, I’m usually off on an adventure, traveling, camping, or taking way too many photos of my dog.

As a Designer
I believe that more upfront thinking leads to better final results. With a background in journalism and writing, I learned it's always best to come up with as many ideas as possible; and then funnel them down from there.
I understand that compelling ideas come from listening to and absorbing what people say. And when it comes to UX, that design is a verb, not a deliverable, and producing an end product is 80% thinking and 20% creating.
I take satisfaction in the knowledge that if you're doing your job as a designer, then no one will know because it'll just work.
As a Teammate
There is a certain beauty in the harmony of a well-balanced team, and I hold true to the fact that the right team can conquer any challenge.

As a teammate, I'm trustworthy and will get the work done, but I'm humble enough to know when to ask for help. I thrive in an environment where constructive feedback is a regular occurrence and take these opportunities to learn.

I am exceptionally good at keeping an eye on the end goal even when work gets scrapped and would consider myself a glass-half-full person who enjoys helping look for solutions to put us back on the right track.
As a Person
I choose to live my life with an everlasting mindset of curiosity. As such, I'm an avid world traveler and find that traveling helped shape me into the person I am today. I truly feel alive when I leap into the unknown and immerse myself in different cultures.
I find that human connection with someone who may not fully understand you but sees you is something everyone should experience, if possible.
When I'm not thinking about travel, I prioritize taking care of my health. I love hiking, cooking, cuddling my dog, wine nights with friends, and making sure I give myself the proper love I need to be the best version of myself.
