White labeling fitness app
In this case study, I share my design process for creating a white-label version of my client's fitness app. The client came to me needing a flow for how to white label their app and asked me to prepare mocks for demos to a potential client, Easy Fitness.

The problem
My client needed to find a way to market their app in an appealing manner to larger businesses that are interested in having an app but don't necessarily want to invest in building a custom one themselves.
The solution
Create a design plan for the client to easily white-label their app and market it to larger businesses. This method is ideal for larger companies as the white labeling approach requires less investment than building a custom mobile app and still looks native to their brand.
Research
As my client wanted me to white label the products ahead of time to sell the vision to Easy Fitness, I had to first go to their website and see what styles and colors they were using in order to know what needed to be updated in the app.

From a glance and some clicking around, I could see that the primary colors used within the Easy Fitness Club's website included Green, Purple, Black, and White
Moving forward in my white labeling designs for this business, I focused on using these hex values I pulled from Easy Fitness's website.
Utilizing the design system to its max:
My client's app was designed with the idea of it as a stand-alone app first, and then after that, they realized the need to have a white label option. As such, there was already a design system, logo, illustrations, and branding in place.
In the case of this design, I was able to go into the design library and update components to quickly change the appearance of the UI to match that of the clients.

Further iterations
For the most part, simply changing the color styles in the component library helped my client's app assume the identity of the company's product they were trying to pitch to. However, there were still a few additional details to iron out, such as the swapping of my client's logos with that of the new company's and some changes to the design of the headers.

Final thoughts
By following the steps I've pieced together for my client and their developers, I believe they will be able to quickly white-label their product for more customers in the future. Having the option for customers to pay to white-label the product will help secure more deals as it allows customers to utilize an app while still keeping their brand identity. In the end, this method is a great way to attract more clients and stand out from the crowd.
